Thank you very much. Naturally, I will be choosing to show you how Islam makes Jesus divine. This means that I will NOT be quoting any bible verses but I will be using Islamic Theology to prove my point alone. So, correct me where you think that my Islamic theological understanding is wrong. I eagerly await your logic.
ISA AL-MASIH IN THE QURAN
UNIQUE NUMBER OF TIMES
- we know that Isa Masih was mentions countless times in the Quran. About 25 times. This is 5 more times than Prophet Muhammad. It seems like Allah wanted you to concentrate on Jesus 5 more times than you concentrate on Muhammad.
UNIQUE DEATHLESS LIFE
- Islamic theology teaches that Isa Al-Masih cannot be found in any tomb. Allah never treated any other mere prophet like this - Just Isa Al-Masih. HE is the ONLY prophet in heaven right now who was elevated and taken to be near to Allah (Muqarrab - Surah 3:45) and we know that HE will be coming back.
UNIQUE LIKE ADAM
- Surah 3:47 also say s that Isa Al-Masih is the only prophet without a human father. This elevates Isa Al-Masih to a special place. Allah's intervention of Jesus has placed Isa Al-Masih in a totally separate category even though HE was not the first man on earth like Adam – the Father of the human race. (Fiy Kamathali 'Ādama - in Adam's Likeness – the 2nd Man – the Last Adam) It is as if Allah wanted Jesus to begin a new (spiritual) race of people on earth because Allah likened Isa Al-Masih to Adam (Surah 3:59). Isa Al-Masih is a sign (Ayah) from Allah (Surah 19:21) – every verse in the Quran is called “Ayah” PLUS Jesus. Not Muhammad. So It is as if Allah wanted you to pay more attention to Isa Al-Masih and read HIM as if HE was a book or the Word of Allah than to pay more Attention to Muhammad who was not called “Ayah”. To back up everything I’ve been saying above, Isa Al-Masih is also called “Qaul al-Haqq - the Statement of Truth/in Word of Truth” (Surah 19:34).
UNIQUE PURITY/ HOLINESS/ SINLESS/ FAULTLESS/ RIGHTEOUS
- Islamic Theology also teaches (especially in Sahih Al-Bukhari 4.44.641) that Isa Al-Masih is the only one who Satan never touched. Allah allow Muhammad and you and every single iota of person on earth to be touched by Satan with Satan's two fingers on both sides (contamination with sin) but not Isa Al-Masih. HE is the only ONE exception of all prophets and humans. Isa Al-Masih is the only one who is sinless from birth - wow!. Even while Isa Al-Masih is in the HIS mother's womb, Allah's eternal Quran calls HIM "the HOLY child" (Surah 19:19 and 3:46) This is the testimony of the Quran, that Only Allah is (Zakiy) Holy/ Pure/ Sinless/ Faultless/ Righteous (Al-Salih). So why is a prophet carrying the same title as Allah? This puts Isa Al-Masih in a special category in Allah's eyes. HE is unique in all of creation. Islamic theology speaks about the sins of the prophets (Surah 26:82, 28:15-16, 37:142), including Muhammad's sins (Surah 47:19, 48:1-2), but NOT a single sin of Isa Al-Masih. So the testimony of Islamic theology is clear about Isa Al-Masih that HE has a title similar to Allah’s.
UNIQUE IN ANOINTING
- Islamic theology, apart from calling HIM, Isa ibn Maryam, it also called HIM Isa Al-Masih (Surah 4:171). In Arabic, the word Masih means Messiah, that is, the one which is anointed. Many prophets in Islamic theology were anointed but none of them were called "Masih"?why? What is so unique about the anointing of Isa Al-Masih to the point that only HE was given the title, "Masih"? It was to indicate mankind that there will be someone who is prophesised from the very beginning even from the garden of Eden. When Allah said to Adam, "I will allow someone to come from the posterity of the woman who will defeat Satan,"
- In Islamic theology, notice that HIS name is not simply Masih, HIS name is Isa Al-Masih. HIS name means "HE saves". This is unique because Allah was the one who named HIM through an angel before HIS birth. Isa Al-Masih was not named by a mere man like Muhammad was. This makes Isa Al-Masih more unique than Muhammad or any other prophets. And since Isa Al-Masih is a sign from Allah; combining "Isa" with Al-Masih" indicates "The Anointed Saviour". To save us from what? To save us from judgement and to save us to a place of mercy (Surah 19:21) and reconciliation with Allah. It is significant/ unique that this title was chose by Allah for HIM to indicate what Allah's special wish will be.
Now I can talk about Isa Al-Masih as Rūhun-Minhu (spirit from Him) - Ruh-ullah – Spirit of God (Surah 4:171) or Kalimatullah - 'Word of God'.
but maybe for another debate.
UNIQUE IN PREFERRED UNIQUENESS
Islamic Theology also calls Isa Al-Masih, “Wajeeh” which means -Highly Exalted –Distinguished –Esteemed -Honored –Worthy of Regard. Depending on what English translation or Arabic Dictionary you use (Surah 3:45). Allah in prefer Isa Al-Masih over everyother prophet (Surah 2:253).
