Panic Attack & Dissociation? | Kati Morton

Panic Attack & Dissociation? | Kati Morton
Order my book today! ARE U OK? http://geni.us/sva4iUY Why is it sometimes anxiety leads to panic attacks and other times into dissociation? First let’s define anxiety: a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. Now let’s define dissociation: feeling disconnected or separated from self (depersonalization) or surrounding areas (derealization). Videos on dissociation: https://goo.gl/uXrHrv If you have panic attacks you know that they can feel like they come out of nowhere, or they can be prompted by a stressful or overwhelming event. Dissociation is no different. Dissociation can also happen during a panic attack & my patients have reported that that happens when they are feeling their worst. Like it’s the worst panic attack they have ever had So my belief is that it just depends on how we are feeling and doing overall. Have you slept well lately, eaten properly? If we are already feeling maxed out our brain will just pull the ripcord before we even experience the panic attack Or the panic attack could throw us into dissociation and because of the struggle with memory retention and dissociation, we don’t even remember that we had a panic attack to begin with.
