David Perrett spent his career working on human faces -- how they are processed in our brain and what cues we use to judge attractiveness, health, trust and leadership. He has developed state-of-the-art image analysis and transformation techniques to define facial shape and colour cues, and 3-D computer graphics for testing the attributions we make to faces. He is the author of "In Your Face: The New Science of Human Attraction". In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
